Its always an honor to provide a unique keepsake box for a very special occasion. In this case, I was commissioned to create a custom keepsake box for a military couple that is getting married in Maui this January. The box is made out of quarter sawn Walnut, Curly Maple and a touch of Birdseye Maple. The contrast between the Maple and Walnut is striking.
The box provides plenty of storage with two nested trays. I used a hard wax and oil finish to the box and a satin lacquer to the trays and grid dividers. This will serve as a special place to house their military and travel mementos.
